This Variegated Boxwood Table Runner is inspired by the box hedge in our garden at home in Dunbar, East Lothian. The design is drawn from a photograph of the hedge, celebrating the layered shades of green, two-tone leaves and gentle contrast found in everyday garden details. The colour palette is taken directly from this image, creating a calm, natural design that works beautifully throughout the year.

About the Design

The pattern began with a close observation of variegated boxwood growing in the garden, its subtle colour shifts, repeating leaf shapes and organic rhythm translating naturally into a surface pattern. This connection between photography, observation and hand-drawn design sits at the heart of my creative process.

Handmade with Thoughtful, Sustainable Fabric

Each table runner is handmade by me using a carefully chosen fabric blend:

65% organic cotton, 25% recycled cotton, and 10% linen

This combination offers softness, durability and a gentle natural texture, making the runner practical for everyday use while still feeling special on the table.

Care: Machine wash 30 degrees C, Do not use biological detergent, line dry, cool iron, do not tumble dry
